Is the address I check contacted?
No. Nothing is ever sent to the address and its owner is never notified.
What does "Unknown" mean?
Some providers don't confirm addresses to outsiders. When that happens we say so instead of guessing, so a Valid or Invalid verdict is always one we are confident in.
What is a catch-all domain?
Some domains accept mail for any address, real or not. For those, no individual mailbox can be confirmed, so we flag the domain as catch-all.
Do you keep the addresses I check?
Only briefly, so repeat checks are fast. Details are on the privacy page.
